St. Georges pre-school is privately owned by myself, Stephanie Sturdee.  The pre-school, until recently was a charity and was committee run.  After it ran into difficulties I decided to close the charity and make it private it so that it would not close.  I have children (Timothy and Gabrielle); Timothy attends St Georges Pre-School and Gabrielle St George’s Primary.  I have a Bachelor of Education and although I am in as management, I enjoy interacting with the children and being part of the team.  I have high standards and welcome any comments and suggestions.  I am pleased with the high ratio of adults in this group.  This ensures individual attention to the needs and development of each child.  The regular staffs are:

 

Joanne Spink, Play Leader. 

Joanne is married to Andy, who is in the Armed Forces. They have 2 children, Aaron and Callum, who both attend Kingdown Sports College. She has worked with children aged 18 months upwards in various settings throughout England and Germany since 2000. Joanne completed her Diploma in Pre-school Practice Level 3 in 2004 and since qualifying has been Deputy Playleader in 3 settings.

 

Claire Small, Deputy Play leader.

Claire is married to Doug, they have two boys. Bradley is 8 and Jake is 5. They both attend St. George’s School and thoroughly enjoy it! Claire is a parent volunteer at St. George’s Primary School, helping children in small groups and on outings. Claire loves working with all the children at St George’s Pre-School, and holds a NVQ level II, and will soon be starting her level lll.

 

Niki Strong, Play Assistant. 

Niki lives with her partner of 18 years.  They have 3 children, 2 attend St George’s Primary Catholic School and her youngest attends St George’s Pre-School.  Niki loves being around children and did her first work experience at St George’s Primary Catholic School.  Niki first got involved in St George’s Pre-School when her children started and she volunteered to help out in various sessions.  Niki enjoys working at St George’s Pre-school and is looking forward to starting her N.V.Q level II.
