It is our aim, as a preschool:

  • To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in a parent-involving, community-based group.
  • To provide quality care and education within a safe and stimulating environment.
  • To provide a full and varied, broad and balanced curriculum through a team of experienced and qualified staff members.
  • To actively promote a working partnership between the child’s parents/carers and the pre-school.
  • To provide equal opportunities for all children and their families within the community of the pre-school.

The following principles underpin everything we do:

  • There is potential in all children which emerges powerfully under favourable conditions.
  • In the early years children learn best through first hand experience.
  •  The child’s education is seen as an interaction between the child and the environment which includes people as well as materials and knowledge.
  • The adults and children to whom the child relates are of central importance.
  • The whole child is considered to be important ie social, emotional, physical, intellectual and moral development are interrelated.
  • Early childhood is valid in itself and is a part of life, not simply a preparation for the next stage of education.
  • What children can do, not what they cannot do, is the starting point in children’s education.

I hope you will find our web site useful and informative. At St George's Preschool we believe that the key to successful education is team work through communication. I look forward to working with you to deliver the best care and education possible for your little ones.

Kind regards

Stephanie Sturdee
